Jesus: “Let us now reflect upon a prophecy from Daniel, concerning a grave event known as the ‘abomination of desolation.’ Understanding this will prepare you for the times of trial and give you insight into the signs of the end.”
Peter: “Lord, what exactly is this abomination of desolation that Daniel spoke of?”
Jesus: “Peter, the abomination of desolation refers to a future sacrilege where the holy place will be defiled. Historically, this was partly fulfilled when an idol was erected in the Temple, and unholy sacrifices were made. Yet, a fuller realization of this prophecy is to come.”
John: “How will we recognize this event when it occurs?”
Jesus: “John, it will be marked by an egregious act where the sacred temple is profaned by one who sets himself up in God’s place, claiming to be divine. This act will be a clear sign to all who are observant and know the scriptures.”
Andrew: “Master, what should we, or those who follow us, do when we witness such an event?”
Jesus: “Andrew, when you see this abomination standing where it ought not—let the reader understand—then those in Judea must flee to the mountains. It will be a time of great urgency and danger, requiring swift action to escape the ensuing desolation.”
James, son of Zebedee: “Will this be a sign of your immediate return?”
Jesus: “James, while it is a significant sign, it does not immediately precede my return. It ushers in a period of tribulation, the likes of which have not been seen. It is a call for endurance and faithfulness from my followers.”
Philip: “Is there a way for those living in those times to be prepared?”
Jesus: “Philip, constant vigilance in prayer and knowledge of the scriptures is crucial. Understanding the prophetic words and remaining steadfast in faith will equip them to face these trials.”
Bartholomew: “How long will this period of tribulation last, once the abomination is in place?”
Jesus: “Bartholomew, the days following this event will be shortened for the sake of the elect. If they were not, no flesh would survive. But for the elect’s sake, whom God has chosen, the days will be shortened.”
Matthew: “Lord, will the faithful be protected during this tribulation?”
Jesus: “Matthew, the days will be fraught with hardship, but divine protection will be upon those who remain faithful. They must persevere in their faith and trust in God’s deliverance.”
Thomas: “How will these events affect the spreading of the Gospel?”
Jesus: “Thomas, even during these times, the Gospel must continue to be proclaimed to all nations. It will be a testimony to the truth and power of God, even amidst great adversity.”
James, son of Alphaeus: “Will everyone understand the significance of these signs?”
Jesus: “James, many will be deceived, for false prophets and false messiahs will arise to lead many astray. Those grounded in the Word and led by the Spirit will understand and stand firm.”
Thaddaeus: “Should we fear these times?”
Jesus: “Thaddaeus, do not fear, for these things must come to pass as God’s plan unfolds. Fear God and keep your faith, for your redemption draws near as these events unfold.”
Simon the Zealot: “Is there any hope for those who might turn back to God during these times?”
Jesus: “Simon, great is the mercy of God! Even in these last days, the call for repentance stands. Those who turn to God, even amidst turmoil, will find grace and salvation.”
Judas Iscariot: “And what of those who perpetrate this abomination? What will be their end?”
Jesus: “Judas, those who set themselves against God and lead others into falsehood will face God’s righteous judgment. Their end will be according to their deeds, as justice is served by the hand of the Almighty.”
