Who was Aholiab?

Jesus: “In the book of Exodus, we learn of Aholiab, a man endowed with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.”

Matthew: “Master, it is said that Aholiab, along with Bezaleel, was called by God to construct the Tabernacle. What role did he play?”

Jesus: “Aholiab was appointed as an assistant to Bezaleel. He was a skilled craftsman, particularly in weaving fabrics and in working with wood, metals, and stones. Together, they were to make all that the Lord commanded Moses for the Tabernacle.”

Peter: “So, he was a craftsman? What made him so special?”

Jesus: “Indeed, Peter. Both Aholiab and Bezaleel were filled with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship. This divine inspiration enabled them to design and create with exceptional skill, making them instrumental in the construction of the tabernacle, a dwelling place for God’s presence among His people.”

Philip: “Lord, this indicates that God values the skills and talents of individuals. How does this apply to us?”

Jesus: “It teaches us that God equips each person with unique talents and skills for the work of His kingdom. Aholiab’s craftsmanship was his service to God, showing us that all forms of work, when done in God’s name, are valuable.”

John: “So, in our following of you, we should also recognize and use our gifts for the glory of God?”

Jesus: “Precisely, John. Whether one teaches, heals, speaks, or works with their hands, all can be done in service to God and our neighbors, just as Aholiab served in constructing the Tabernacle.”

Thomas: “I see. It’s about using what we’ve been given for a purpose greater than ourselves.”

Jesus: “Yes, Thomas. It’s about stewardship of our gifts in love and obedience to God, contributing to His divine purpose.”
