What makes someone a Christian?

Jesus: To be a Christian, one must first and foremost believe in their heart and confess with their mouth that I, Jesus Christ, am the Lord and that God hath raised me from the dead. As it is written, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” [Romans 10:9, KJV]

Andrew: Master, is belief alone sufficient? What of our deeds and the way we live our lives?

Jesus: Well said, Andrew. Belief is the foundation, but it must be accompanied by a transformation of life. A true Christian follows my teachings, showing love to all, forgiving others, and seeking to live a life of righteousness and service. As I have taught, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” [John 14:15, KJV]

Thomas: Lord, how can we be certain that we truly live as Christians should?

Jesus: Thomas, it is by your fruits that you shall be known. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. [Matthew 7:18, KJV] Therefore, let your life be a testimony of your faith, through acts of kindness, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to truth and justice.
