What is the difference between good and bad people?

Jesus: “The distinction between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ people can often seem clear in human terms, but in the eyes of God, the matter goes deeper into the heart and motivations. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, yet through grace, transformation is possible for everyone.”

Peter: “Lord, if all have sinned, how can anyone be considered good?”

Jesus: “Peter, true goodness comes from the transformation that God works within a person. It is not merely about moral actions, but about a heart aligned with God’s will. Goodness, in God’s view, is defined by love, mercy, humility, and a commitment to justice.”

John: “Then, is being ‘bad’ determined by one’s actions alone?”

Jesus: “John, while actions are important, being ‘bad’ often stems from a heart that resists God’s ways. It involves living in persistent unrepentance, where one’s actions and decisions are guided by selfishness, greed, or malice. However, it’s crucial to remember that God’s desire is to restore and redeem, not condemn.”

Andrew: “How should we treat those who are considered ‘bad’?”

Jesus: “Andrew, treat them with love and compassion. Remember, I came to call not the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Reach out with kindness and the message of redemption. You are called to be lights in the world, guiding others to the truth and love of God.”

James, son of Zebedee: “Is it possible for someone who is ‘bad’ to become ‘good’?”

Jesus: “Absolutely, James. Transformation is at the heart of the Gospel. Through faith in me, anyone can be forgiven and start a new life. The Holy Spirit works within to renew and transform, producing fruits of righteousness in those who believe.”

Philip: “Lord, how can we help foster this transformation in others?”

Jesus: “Philip, be examples of the love and mercy of God in your own lives. Teach, counsel, and pray for those you wish to reach. Create environments of grace where the truth of the Gospel can be clearly understood and embraced.”

Bartholomew: “Does God view everyone with the potential to be good?”

Jesus: “Bartholomew, God sees every person as created in His image, with the potential to reflect His goodness. His hope is that each one comes to repentance and knowledge of the truth, embracing the life He offers through the Gospel.”

Matthew: “How do we avoid the trap of labeling ourselves or others as simply ‘good’ or ‘bad’?”

Jesus: “Matthew, avoid making absolute judgments about others. Instead, focus on your own spiritual journey and encourage others in theirs. Cultivate humility and grace, recognizing that everyone is on a path of growth and every heart has the potential for change.”

Thomas: “It can be challenging not to judge others based on their actions, Lord.”

Jesus: “Thomas, indeed it can be. Ask for discernment and wisdom to see others as I see them—not merely as they appear. Remember, I look at the heart. Strive to perceive beyond actions to understand the deeper struggles and hopes of others.”

Simon the Zealot: “So our mission is to bring the hope of transformation to everyone, no matter their current state?”

Jesus: “Exactly, Simon. Your mission is to share the message of redemption, to be agents of grace and transformation. Show the world that change is possible, that in God’s kingdom, no one is beyond the reach of My love and power to renew.”
