Master, what should we teach others about anger?

Jesus: My beloved disciples, anger is an emotion that arises when one feels wronged, threatened, or frustrated. It is a natural response, yet it can lead to sin if not kept in check. As it is written, “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath” (Ephesians 4:26).

James (son of Zebedee): Master, why is it that anger can so easily lead us astray?

Jesus: James, anger clouds the mind and hardens the heart. It can lead to harsh words and deeds that we later regret. It is like a fire, quick to ignite but difficult to control. Therefore, it must be handled with great care and wisdom.

Thomas: Lord, how can we manage our anger so that it does not lead us into sin?

Jesus: Thomas, when you feel anger rising within you, pause and pray. Seek My peace and guidance. Remember the words I have spoken unto you, “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God” (Matthew 5:9). Strive to be a peacemaker, even in the midst of your own anger.

Simon the Zealot: Lord, there are times when anger seems justified, especially when we see injustice. How should we respond in such situations?

Jesus: Simon, righteous anger against injustice can be a force for good if it leads to righteous action. Yet, let not your anger consume you or lead you to hatred. “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice” (Ephesians 4:31). Instead, seek justice with love and compassion, for this is the way of My kingdom.

Matthew: Master, what should we teach others about anger?

Jesus: Teach them to be slow to anger and quick to forgive, as I have taught you. “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools” (Ecclesiastes 7:9). Encourage them to seek reconciliation and peace, and to bring their burdens and frustrations unto Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and they will find rest for their souls.
