What is a cell?

Jesus: “Imagine a cell as the most basic unit of life, much like a tiny room in which all the necessary processes of living take place. Each cell functions like a miniature factory, performing specific tasks but also working collectively within larger organisms, like plants and animals, to sustain life. Just as our body comprises many parts that work together, each cell contributes to the body’s overall function and health.”

Peter: “So, every living thing is made up of these cells?”

Jesus: “Exactly, Peter. From the smallest bacteria to the largest creatures, and even the plants that grow from the earth, all are made up of cells. Each cell is designed with a purpose, reflecting the incredible detail and forethought of God’s creation. It’s like reading a scripture; within each word, there’s a depth of meaning and life.”

John: “Master, how do these cells maintain life?”

Jesus: “John, within each cell, there are smaller parts, each with its own role. Some parts generate energy, while others create the proteins essential for life. It’s a harmonious system, guided by a divine plan, where every part has a purpose, much like each of you has a role in spreading the Good News.”

Andrew: “It’s amazing to think about the complexity of life at such a small scale!”

Jesus: “Indeed, Andrew. The intricacy of a single cell, let alone an entire organism, is a testament to the magnificence of God’s creation. It invites us to marvel at His work and to remember that in all things, both great and small, we can see His handiwork.”
