What are God’s dreams?

Jesus: My dear friends, when we speak of God’s dreams, we refer to His divine will and purpose for humanity and the world. The Scriptures reveal much about His desires for us. Let us consider some passages.

Andrew: Master, can you give us some examples from the Scriptures?

Jesus: Of course, Andrew. In the book of Jeremiah, the Lord declares, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11). This shows that God’s dreams for us are filled with peace and hope.

John: That is comforting, Lord. It reminds me of the words in Micah 6:8, where we are told what the Lord requires of us: “to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.” This speaks of a life aligned with His will.

Jesus: Indeed, John. God’s dreams encompass justice, mercy, and humility. He desires that we live in harmony with Him and with one another, reflecting His love and compassion in our daily lives.

Peter: Master, sometimes it’s hard to see how our individual lives fit into God’s grand design. How can we be sure we are following His dreams?

Jesus: Peter, remember what I have taught you: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). By prioritizing God’s kingdom and His righteousness, we align ourselves with His dreams.

James: And what about the future, Lord? What is God’s ultimate dream for creation?

Jesus: The ultimate dream of God is revealed in Revelation, where it is written, “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God” (Revelation 21:3). His dream is to dwell among His people in perfect harmony, with no more pain, sorrow, or death.

Thomas: So, Master, God’s dreams are about relationship and restoration?

Jesus: Yes, Thomas. God’s dreams are about restoring the brokenness of the world and bringing us into a close, loving relationship with Him. His dreams are far greater and more glorious than we can imagine, and they are rooted in His eternal love for us.
