Jesus: “When considering prophecies, such as those attributed to Nostradamus, it is essential to reflect on the guidance provided in Scripture. ‘To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.’ (Isaiah 8:20). Our understanding and discernment of prophecies should be rooted in God’s Word.”
John: “Master, Nostradamus’s predictions are often vague and open to many interpretations. How does that compare to biblical prophecy?”
Jesus: “John, biblical prophecies are distinct in their nature and purpose. They often contain a clear call to repentance, a revelation of God’s character, or specific information about future events that affirm God’s sovereignty. Prophecies that are ambiguous and not aligned with Scripture warrant caution and discernment.”
Peter: “Lord, people are fascinated by predictions about the future. What should be our focus when we hear of such prophecies?”
Jesus: “Peter, your concern reflects the human curiosity about the unknown. However, your focus should remain on God’s promises and His kingdom. ‘But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.’ (Matthew 6:33). Let your heart be guided by faith, not by the uncertainty of predictions.”
Thomas: “Is there a risk in giving too much attention to figures like Nostradamus, Master?”
Jesus: “Thomas, indeed there is. When much attention is given to seeking signs and predictions outside of Scripture, it can lead to confusion and divert you from the truth. Our trust should be placed in God alone, who has revealed what we need for salvation and life through His Word.”
Matthew: “So, how should we respond to others who are intrigued or even led astray by such prophecies?”
Jesus: “Matthew, respond with love and gentleness, guiding them back to the Scripture. Share the hope and certainty found in God’s Word. Encourage them to build their faith on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ, rather than the shifting sands of human predictions.”
Andrew: “It’s a reminder that our hope lies not in knowing the future, but in knowing You, who holds the future.”
Jesus: “Precisely, Andrew. I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. In me, all things hold together. Let your hope and faith rest securely in my hands, for I am the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
