Jesus: “Gather around, my friends, for this meal we share tonight is unlike any we have had before. This is the Last Supper, a moment of profound significance, where we will reflect on what is to come and the deep meanings behind it.”
Peter: “Lord, as we break this bread together, what should we remember?”
Jesus: “This bread represents my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. It is a symbol of the sacrifice I am about to make, a testament to the love I have for all humanity.”
John: “And the cup we share, Master?”
Jesus: “This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you and for many for the remission of sins. Whenever you drink it, do so in remembrance of me. It signifies the new covenant between God and His people, sealed by my sacrifice.”
Matthew: “It’s a profound mystery, Lord. Your body, your blood, given for us…”
Jesus: “Yes, Matthew. It is the ultimate expression of love. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. I am laying down my life for you, for all. Remember this act and live out this love in your lives.”
Thomas: “How are we to continue without you, Master? Your presence among us has been our guide.”
Jesus: “Thomas, I will not leave you comfortless. The Holy Spirit will come to guide you, to remind you of all I have taught you. You will continue in my love, and through you, my teachings will spread to the ends of the earth.”
Andrew: “To think, Lord, that through this supper, we are all connected, from now until the end of age.”
Jesus: “Indeed, Andrew. This supper is a communion, not just among us here, but with all who believe in me, throughout time and space. It is a symbol of unity, a bond of love that transcends earthly bounds.”
Simon the Zealot: “And in sharing this meal, we declare our allegiance to your kingdom, a kingdom not of this world.”
Jesus: “Correct, Simon. My kingdom is not from hence. It is a kingdom of truth, love, and justice. Those who follow me are called to live by these principles, to be lights in the darkness.”
James, son of Zebedee: “But how will we be remembered, Lord? As those who shared this final meal with you?”
Jesus: “James, you will be remembered as my disciples, my friends who walked with me, who shared in my ministry, and who continued my work after I am gone. This Last Supper is a part of your legacy, a foundation upon which the church will be built.”
Philip: “It’s an overwhelming thought, Lord. That we’re part of something so much greater.”
Jesus: “Philip, every one of you plays a crucial role in the unfolding of God’s plan. Tonight, as we share this meal, remember the unity and love that binds us. Carry it forward, and let it be the hallmark of your ministry.”
Bartholomew: “We will remember, Lord, and honor your sacrifice through our lives.”
Jesus: “And so, let this supper serve as a covenant among us, a remembrance of our time together, and a promise of what is to come. Live in love, as I have loved you, and you will truly be my disciples.”
Judas Iscariot, silently contemplating his imminent betrayal, remains quiet, the weight of his decision heavy upon him, as the shadows of the evening draw near, marking the solemnity of this Last Supper.
