Can You Lose Your Salvation?

Jesus: My beloved, it is important to understand the nature of salvation. Salvation is not something easily lost or taken from you like a possession. As I said in the scriptures, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” (John 10:27-28). When you come to me in faith, trusting in my sacrifice, I hold you close, and no one can take you away from me.

Peter: Lord, I remember how you told me before the crucifixion that I would deny you three times. In that moment, I stumbled, but your love did not leave me. You restored me, though I had fallen. Does this not show that even in our failings, you keep us?

Jesus: Yes, Peter. Your denial showed weakness, but my love and grace are stronger than your failings. I came not to condemn but to save. Yet, the heart must remain open to my Spirit, for as I have said, “Abide in me, and I in you” (John 15:4). If one turns away and rejects the gift of salvation fully, there is a grave danger, but my mercy is always extended.

John: Master, your love is overwhelming. But what if someone turns away in doubt or in hardship? Can they come back to you?

Jesus: Of course, John. Remember the story of the prodigal son? He left his father, squandering his inheritance, but when he returned in repentance, the father ran to him and embraced him (Luke 15:20). So it is with anyone who returns to me. I stand ready to forgive, to restore, and to welcome back.

Thomas: But, Lord, some might fear that their sins are too great, that they have fallen too far. What would you say to them?

Jesus: My grace is sufficient, Thomas. I came to seek and save the lost, no matter how far they have strayed. “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37). None are beyond the reach of my love, if they turn back to me. Salvation is a gift of eternal life, but it also calls for perseverance and trust in my love. You cannot lose it easily, but you must continue to walk in faith, always knowing that I am faithful, even when you stumble.
